Looks like we have some changes coming to the Rite Aid Up Rewards & Load2Card programs at Rite Aid starting this Sunday, September 2nd!
Rite Aid posted this on their Facebook page:
To offer even more value and convenience, we’re excited to announce the chainwide rollout of our Load2Card +UP feature! All of your +UPs will now be automatically loaded to your wellness+ card – no more having to keep track of your paper receipts! If you prefer, you’ll still have the option to receive +UPs on your register receipts rather than having them loaded to your wellness+ card.
This will officially go into effect on Sunday, Sept. 2, at all Rite Aid Pharmacy locations. If you have any questions, check out our Load2Card +UP FAQs: http://bit.ly/P0S9uM

My biggest concern is that the Up Rewards will automatically be loaded to your card, which if I understand this correctly, will automatically be used when making a purchase. It will be up to you to clip or unclip the UpRewards for use. This seems like a step that I’m likely to miss in a rush.
For now, I’m planning to opt out of the automatically loading my Up Rewards onto my card. Here’s how you do it: All you need to do is visit your local Rite Aid store and ask the cashier to switch you to the paper +UP option. You will need to show your wellness+ card or give the phone number associated with your wellness+ account. You can also call 1‐800‐RITEAID to switch to paper +UPs. If you choose to use paper +UPs, +UP activation will still be at 6 a.m. the day after the +UP is earned.
